2017 Ford Focus RS-05One of the most anticipated sports cars of the year – the new Focus RS has finally revealed his face and judging by the photos, it looks better than might have been expected. Unlike the previous generation, in which the power was transmitted exclusively on the front axle, the new Ford Focus RS has 4WD. The third-generation Focus RS is also the most powerful so far. Under the hood  is 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost (from the new Mustang), which, according to Ford, “delivers over 320 hp (235 kW)”. Exact data on the maximum torque for now is not yet published, but from Ford came news that the 6-speed manual transmission had to be further fine-tuned in order to be able to handle with the additional torque compared to the Mustangs 433 Nm.2017 Ford Focus RS-06Ford has not yet revealed the car’s performance. For comparison, the previous Focus RS equipped with 2.5-liter engine and 301 hp from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) accelerates in 5.9 sec, so we should expect that the new Focus RSl will be even faster. In order all the “320+”hp are utilized in the right way, Ford has decided to introduce all-wheel drive Dynamic Torque Vectoring. This system allows up to 70% of torque to be sent to the rear axle, where, if necessary, force can also be allocated to each of the rear wheel.

Ford explains that in this way improves handling and stability of the car in curves, especially at high speeds. Focus RS also has a special sports suspension that can be adjusted for driving on the racetrack. In collaboration with Michelin were developed Pilot Super Sport 235/35 R19 to deliver high performance, while for the racetrack are available optional Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. 2017 Ford Focus RS-04Customers will be able to choose between four special exterior colors: Nitrous Blue, Frozen White, Absolute Black and Stealth Gray, while the example of the photos for promotional purposes is painted in Liquid Blue hue, the one that we saw on the new Ford GT concept. The third-generation Focus RS will be a global model and the start date of sale and the price will be announced later.
